AblePrint, a manufacturer specialized in ovens for semiconductor pressure process, focuses on pressurized defoaming for high-level advanced packaging processes. Mr. Zhi-hong Hong, board chairman of AblePrint, says that the keys to the vacuuming and pressurizing in the defoaming process of packaging are temperature and time. While dealing with problems in advanced packaging processes, such as defoaming, warping, heat dissipation and reflow, the control of pressure and temperature shall not be reduced due to the size of oven and increase of chamber thickness even when the pressurizing oven is subject to a pressure up to 10 to 20kg/cm2.
AblePrint has a wide range of defoaming ovens for every need with a price ranging from millions to tens of millions NT dollars, and these products help AblePrint secure an overwhelming portion of the global market. Chairman Hong indicates that AblePrint has developed several process solutions patented domestically and internationally. However, these patents were violated by many counterfeiters. As an effort to protect its IPs, AblePrint has started collecting evidence since 2018 and hired legal representatives to engage in legal actions against these counterfeiters. One of the law suits has been awarded to AblePrint earlier in this July.
Patent lawsuits take time, often years. Chairman Hong points out that over the course of the past 4 years, counterfeiters kept producing and shipping counterfeits as they made their way into China. AblePrint is collecting more infringement evidence and extends the patent fight to China by establishing AblePrint China. It is learned that one of the infringing companies is headed by someone who used to work for AbnlePrint. He resigned and started up his own business. He copied not only the patented techniques but also sales documents and skills of his previous employer. Chairman Hong says that AblePrint insists in innovations and holds the line for its rightful IPs. He believes clients, domestic and international, respect intellectual property rights and value professional quality.
Eyeing the high and low-temperature metal melting processes in high-performance computation and AI chips for automotive applications, AblePrint started year ago investing in the development of closed reflow oven for heat dissipation, metal die bonding and bumping process as the main force for the next stage.
